ONE WEEK CRUISES STARTING FROM ELBA

Cap Corse - about 200 nm

1 Woche - Cap Corse_2Portoferraio – Capraia – Macinaggio – round Cap Corse to St.-Florent – Calvi and back to Portoferraio, in case via Bastia and Porto Azzurro. This course surely is the most beautiful as far as landscapes are concerned, but it is not recommended in case of the Mistral. In that case, we suggest a taxi tour from Macinaggio with lunch in Centuri – because of the time needed, St.Florent becomes then the most westerly end. Beware of the Mistral in Bastia! Better head to Macinaggio.

Continental Italy and Giglio Island - about 180 nm

1 Woche - Italienisches Festland mit GiglioPortoferraio – Porto Azzurro – then a long leg to Giglio Island (why not set out early in the morning and leave at dawn?). On Giglio Island it is worth visiting Castello. After a diversion to Giannutri for a swim (Cala Maestra, pay attention to the forbidden zones!), let’s pass the evening in Porto Santo Stefano or Porto Ercole. Then back to Portoferraio through Punta Ala.This route can be sailed with any wind and is safe as far as the Mistral is concerned..

East coast of Corsica to Bonifacio - abaout 300 nm

1 Woche - Ostseite KorsikaPortoferraio – Marina di Campo – Campoloro – Porto Vecchio – Bonifacio and back to Portoferraio, also via Solenzara and Porto Azzurro. In a single week, this cruise can be rather demanding, because the single legs are long and, according to circumstances, night sailing can be required. Moreover, you will not see some beautiful aspects of Corsica. We thus recommend this course for those of you who need to make up nautical miles or who have at least two weeks of time.

All the proposed routes can, according to the individual requirements and the weather conditions, be combined at will so as to fit both a sporting crew or a relaxed family holiday. When planning your cruise, do not forget that outside the good season the Mistral can have its word to say. During Summer, on the contrary, you should plan rather shorter legs, because of the dominance of light breezes and the annoyance of an engine running for long hours.
