THREE WEEKS CRUISES STARTING FROM ELBA
All routes previously proposed are also ideal – with a diversion here and there – for a three week cruise. In such cases, the single legs can be foreseen in order to avoid long stretches under engine, or include some swimming stops. On the other hand, you can take advantage of the extra time to visit some inland curiosity, as for instance take the train from Ajaccio or Bastia to Corte, in the mountains of Corsica, make the tour of the Cap Corse by taxi, some walking, etc. Here are some examples.
Circumnavigation of Corsica - about 450 nm
Italian and French Riviera until St.-Tropez, about 660 nm
Circumnavigation of Corsica and North Sardinia, about 600 nm
Continental Italy until Ischia/Capri, about 600 nm
All the proposed routes can, according to the individual requirements and the weather conditions, be combined at will so as to fit both a sporting crew or a relaxed family holiday. When planning your cruise, do not forget that outside the good season the Mistral can have its word to say. During Summer, on the contrary, you should plan rather shorter legs, because of the dominance of light breezes and the annoyance of an engine running for long hours.
