Gaeta represents an ideal starting point towards the paradise of the Pontines archipelago, with its main islands of Ponza, Ventotene and Palmarola. Very easy to reach are also the islands of Ischia, Procida and Capri.
THE GAETA AREA
Gaeta lies on continental Italy, between Rome and Naples (about 160 km south of Rome and 90 km north of Naples).
Gaeta’s port represents an ideal starting point towards the paradise of the Pontines archipelago, with its main islands of Ponza, Ventotene and Palmarola. Very easy to reach are also the islands of Ischia, Procida and Capri, as well as the coasts of Sorrento and Amalfi. In other words, once in Gaeta you will find yourselves in the middle of a fantastic sailing area.
HOW TO GET TO GAETA
You will arrive in Gaeta through a multi-lane motorway and about 30 km of provincial road. A good alternative is to fly – currently at very convenient fares – to Rome or Naples, from where you will find very good connections with Formia, 7 km north of your destination. In such case, we will be glad to fetch you at the railway station. Or we can also organize for you a direct transfer from the chosen airport. You will also be able to take a train to Formia from any main railway station near your home, also by wagon-lit. You will find other information at our office and on the page "How to reach Gaeta" . At the booking, you will receive detailed instructions and a sketch for your travel.
THE PROJECT GAETA
Once more we would like to introduce you to our charter base of Gaeta.
From there you will find at hand the paradise of the Pontines Islands, as well as the gulfs of Naples and Gaeta.
We wish to continue to suggest this region as your new goal.
From our base you can for instance get to Ponza Island, near which you will also find two other smaller islands, Zanone and Palmarola, where during the day you can drop your anchor in turquoise blue water.
Next stop could be Ventotene, a wonderful island on the course to the well known island of Ischia, with its also famous thermal baths. Some miles away you will then arrive on Procida Island, beyond which you will enter the gulf of Naples.
Those of you who still have time should not miss the picturesque coast of Sorrento and the famous island of Capri – all this in absolutely comfortable legs. (see also our cruising tips).
This new project was born thanks to the co-operation with our sailing partners in the Gaeta area. It is currently a small base with two yachts, but for the future it is our intention to offer you a still greater choice.
The base shall slowly grow, so as to always fully meet your and our requests. Both new Bavaria yachts were supplied and equipped by ourselves, and meet all proven standards of our fleet on Elba Island. On board you will find all comforts, which our customers have appreciated for so many years.
The yachts are berthed at the quay in the small old port of Gaeta, equipped with fresh water and electricity, and very near to the small streets of the town, where you will find good restaurants, shops and a small supermarket.
At your arrival you will be welcomed by our partner Marco, and while the check-in You will be assisted by himself. The team also includes Nino, who is in charge of the professional maintenance of the yachts. And obviously, we are fully at your disposal, at any moment of your cruise, to personally answer your questions.
We might as well meet there, because we regularly visit Gaeta as well. And with the friendliness and the competence that you acknowledge us, we will do everything to make your holidays unforgettable.
